Voorgevormd kitband is leverbaar in veel verschillende maten (bv. 3x10 mm). Niet alleen een vierkant of rechthoekig profiel, maar ook in rondprofiel. Kitband is gemaakt op basis van butyl vandaar ook de naam butylband.
Kitband is toepasbaar als afdichting tegen lucht, stof en water. Het butylband wordt als voegafdichting gebruikt in expansievoegen en expansienaden in prefab-bouw, in natte ruimten; bij dak- en wandbeplating-, in overlapnaden tussen profielplaten, zetstukken, lichtdoorlatende platen en goten. Het butyl band is zeer goed bestand tegen weersinvloeden. Zeer lange levensduur en bestand tegen verdunde zuren en logen. Rond butylband of kitveter wordt ook gebruikt als : Rugvulling .

Butyltape is used as an insulator against air, dust and water. The butylband is used in prefab-construction, expansion joints, weatherstripping and a wide range of other applications such as filling voids. Butyl tape sealant is available in rectangle profile, square profile and round profile (butyl cord). Butyl tape can be manufactured with a hard core.

La bande de butyle est destinée à des applications très diverses. Isolation de courant d’aire, joint d’étanchéité, bande d’ isolation, sous-toiture, calfeutrer des portes, insonorisation des cloisons légères, l’industrie de carrosserie, isolation des conduits d’écoulement. La bande butyle a une bonne résistance aux intempéries. Le joint butyle a une longue durée de vie et il est aussi disponible en corde butyle.

Butylklebeband ist in Rechteckstreifen und Dichtschnüren lieferbar. Butylbänder eignen sich für sehr viele Anwendungen. Butylband wird zum Beispiel bei Überlappungen und Anschlussfugen gebraucht.
